Pastorelli Pizza Crusts

While high fiber pizza crusts are nothing new, Pastorelli Ultra Thin & Crispy 100% Whole Wheat Pizza Crusts certainly are.

These delectable and, as the name says, “Ultra thin” crusts are a much-needed addition to the prepared pizza crust world!

I picked up a packet of Pastorellis at World Market, and for $4.99 got three huge pizza crusts. The serving size is odd – 7.5 servings per 3-crust package – making each serving roughly one-third of a pizza.

This size serving contains 150 calories (not bad for 1/3 of a pizza…), 170 mg sodium (not bad for a pizza crust…) and 4 grams of fiber, making this pizza crust product a Gold Star Fiber Find!

The crusts crisp up nicely, have a slightly sweet taste despite less than 1 gram of added sugar, and are rather sturdy even given their thinness.

In addition to some part-skim shredded mozzarella cheese and homemade pizza sauce, I topped my crust with one whole, sliced, roasted eggplant and 10 oz raw spinach, for an added 20 grams of fiber per pizza. This gave roughly 7 more grams per serving, for a total of 11 grams of fiber in 1/3 of a pizza.

If you are in search of a high fiber, whole wheat pizza crust that won’t break the calorie bank, Pastorellis is the pizza crust for you!
